“Understanding privacy & security issues in EHR Clouds : BigData perspective”
EHR stands for electronic health records. Many governments (such as Australia) have planned to introduce EHR systems for keeping the health record of its people but it lacks a convincing statement of guarantee for privacy. This is a big concern, EHR can be treated as a security threat in various concerns if not handled properly. EHR contains personal sensible information and also timely health data. On large deployments of such systems, it would be tough to manage the risks only by performing governance and policies in organization. A new framework for realtime identification of objects (threats and privacy concerns) and possible defense using machine learning techniques is discussed. BigData technology is refereed here in a sense to demonstrate that large volume, high latency in data flow and variety of this data is characteristic in large scale deployments.
